First of all, we don't have an airport! (See Chris's poem below)
This Stanstead is a quiet and peaceful village, situated in West Suffolk, hidden between the tourist hotspots of Long Melford, Lavenham, and Clare.
There are about 140 homes, with a variety of old and new buildings, small and large, and families stay here - there are several that have a couple of generations in the village. But there are always very welcome new residents, who soon realise that it is a great place to live.
There are many footpaths, providing stunning views of farmland and woodland for all of us dog-walkers, wandering around in rain and sun and meeting up for a natter. A map of the footpaths is available to view here.
We have our Church and a Community Centre, and our community get-togethers are shared between them.
There is a very useful magazine produced monthly by the Benefice and available in Stanstead from Caroline Jones on 281572/07913 842470 for only £10 a year, delivered.
